Default lt250r spark plug questions

I have a couple of questions about my lt's plug. In my clymer it says to run a B9EGV, why is the electrode so small. Can I run any other plug? Also, it always seems that if I ride for a while and shut it off, it won't start back up and i don't have any spark. When i take the plug out it doesn't look bad, but if i rub the electrode with something and stick er back in it sparks, but it is very week. Its enough to start it up but i can't let it idle or it will die. Any help would be appreciated.

Try running a B8EGV. Its a hotter plug. Thats what I run. The small electrodes are normal and some believe it is better....Dont foul as much. You may want to check your coil to make sure it is still fireing at full power. The manual has a check procedure.

I use NGK b8es and b9es . Using split fires are waste of money. They have twice as much area to foul and have been proven to not really work . Electricity uses the path of least resistance so no matter how many times you split its gonna take the same path. Split fires may work in cars that are gonna use them for high mileage applications but for atvs you should change your ........1 plug often enough to not need a split fire. Instead of paying an extra 2 $ per plug how bout i take you out behind the dealership and kick you in the nuts.

I use an NGK BR8ES. I had this exact same problem and it wasn't the plug. My chain poped and caught the wires coming out of the stator and cut one almost in half but it still had a few strands connected. Check the wires by the front sprocket. When I fixed this I also replaced all of the connectors where the stator wires connect to the quads wire harness. about a year later it did it again and it was the kill switch on the left side of the handlebar. I just took it apart and cleane the mud and water out and sprayed it with DIY Electric grease and its been fine for 3 years now.

I use B8es NGK in the Quadracers. Have had no problem with them. The B9es plug is used in cold weather.

Default lt250r spark plug questions

I just bought an 87 and 90 LT250R. The spark plug in the 87 is a NGK B8EV which seems about right from what I have been reading. What is stumping me is the 90 has a NGK R BUR4EB in it. I have not read about this plug anywhere. If the 4 is the heat range, then it seems way off. The guy I bought them from only rode the Oregon dunes if that helps. I need to buy more plugs and I'm not sure what to get. The one in it seems a little carboned up but these quads sat for a long time and the gas I drained out did not look good and seemed way too high in the gas/oil ratio. The guy said he used 20:1. I am using Motorex at a 40:1 ratio. I am installing a pipe and filter and jet kit and will probably just start out with what the Clymer manual says. Any commetnts appreciated.
Thanks
Wes
