Look at the cylinder on the right side (when your sitting on it). If it does not have a small round window in a rectangle shaped cover, then you have an 85-86 model. If it does then you have an 87-92. Also look at the suspension linkage. If it has a rod that activates the shock absorber, then its 87-90, if it has a motocross bike style linkage with a horseshoe sorta shaped link, then its 91-92. Those are both assuming youve got a powervalve.
Easiest was is get the VIN stamped off either the frame or engine. that will tell you for sure, assuming its original.

thanks fo the info guys, i guess i have the 85-86 cause i dont have a t seat, i have a silver engine with no window and its stamped 249cc. Now does anyone know how to distinguish between these two years. and 4 Killerkxf i live behind behlman. Also i see on my cylinder head it has TCHS engraved so does this mean that its been bored out, if so any idea how much. Lastly, what is the bolt pattern on th 85-86 and where can i get some deep dish(reverse offset) rims to widen the rear end. Are there any other ways to widen the rear?

If it has TCHS on the side, it could mean that it has been ported. Usualy companies stamp their name on the cylinder. The only way to tell if it is bored is to pull the head and measure. The way to tell if it is a 85 vs a 86 is to see what size the carb it. The 85 has a 32mm carb and 86 is 34mm.
