On my 03 Z 400 the intake cam seized up on the journal with the oil hole in it this was the only one that was dry, the other 3 where wet. What could cause this? I don't want to put it back together and have the same problem happen again. The oil holes seem to be clear.

Also where can I get the head repaired?

The oil comes up through the cyl, into the head, into the in/ex camshaft journal spreding onto the cam shaft face. Might need to fish some wire into the cam. Might be a chunk of gasket/o-ring/RTV in there.

The Z400 is still a "new" model. You might have to go OEM unless you get lucky on ebay or something.

how much would you be willing to pay for a new head? I am considering putting a 440 kit on mine that comes with a new head. Depending on how much you would pay for the head could determine weather i buy the kit now or later. My quad is about 4 months old.

I have heard of this on other cases as well.
