Default 25's on a Z400?

Anyone fit 25's on their Z400? If not do you think they'd fit? I measured and it looks like they'll clear as long as I take off the heel guards.

Thanks!

Should fit if you take off the heal quards. Might scrub the fender on jumps. just remember to re-gear or you'll loose your low end.

Years ago we put 25's on a Quadracer for muddy trail running and they took away too much handling to be worth it. Keep the 25's on the utility type quads. 22's will to fine, especally if they are 12" wide.

I get stuck a lot, I have an addiction to deep mud, puddles and other things of that nature. I don't race or ride like a racer, I'm all trail, hills, mud, etc, so the more clearence I can get the better. I could not care less about flying around a track or taking corners at warp speed.

I ordered 25X12X9 realters today, should be here Monday!!!

You need a mud bogger 4X4. Running 25's on a sport quad just isn't right! It will be a disaster without some serious gearing changes. You are going to lose tons of low end power, and low end is what you need in the mud! Cancel that order while you still can!

Naw, you'll be okay powerwise even if you leave it stock but you will notice your quad is easier to stall. I'd buy a new, smaller countershaft sprocket if your chain and sprockets are in good shape, just to regain some of the low end. Since you don't care about losing the high speed handling and the ability to slide then the set up will work fine. I want to mount 22" Realtors to my KXF just because the stock 20's are way too low for the rocks.

I was going to go with 22's but they only give you an additional 1" clearence, and my swingarm and skidplate is already taking pretty good hits. The 2.5" I'll get from the 25's should help a while lot.

The damn realters were unavailable but I got a set of 25X13.5X9 ITP Spiders for a really good deal ($125 shipped). Hopefully they're not out of stock too!

Since you don't care about top speed, you're going to want to gear down a lot.

Don't go smaller than a 13 on the front (less teeth = more wear) and since you'll have to up the rear sprocket you're going to need a slightly longer chain.

Make sure to get pictures with your new setup. It'l be interesting to see.

Got them mounted up yesterday, they clear the fenders fine once the heel guards are removed. Will be out Saturday or Sunday to get them muddy. Looks insane. I'll post a couple pics later tonight.
