Default Gearless locker on 03 vinson

I am seriously considering a gearless locker for my 03 vinson 500. I would like to hear pro's and con's for this setup.

the 581 part of my name, comes from

Four Stroke Techs big bore race prep 581 cc kit, which am seriously lookin into this kit will make this thing have more power than a alba raptor.

now as of visiting forums, we boys here in the east are gettin a nice storm, so work closed, good deal huh.

Thanks 581, I am going to order one. Dealer said he will install, he has never done one, but said he figures 5 to 6 hrs. for the first one, will bill no more than 3 to 4 hours. How long did it take you? I have garage experience, but am not sure If I want to tackle this....

took me 2 1/2 hrs to compleat, and in that time i installed frount aluminum skid plates. the biggest part(messyest)is drainin and refilling the fluid. i got really good color directions off of highlifters website(i have a tendancy not to use them tho ), being i have already had my diff out 1 other time, so no biggie, air tools are the gift from god on this project, it took me 30sec to remove all of those case bolts, all in all i would say if i had someone who needed it done, i would volentier to do it for free, to me it is not that big of job, plus you learn that it is not harmfull to put the vinny in 4x4 on the fly(as long as you are under 10mph, and not on the gas), being there is a huge spring that is there to soak up any impact the 4x4 may incounter.

I recommend that people do all their own work, or at least tear it down once. Like you say bout that spring and understanding how the system works. When yuo understand whats happening you get a lil extra piece of mind.

I know this has been asked already but how does this locker work? Is there a button or is it automatic when you engage 4x4?

Not having a locker is the main reason I'm looking at the KQ. When you through in EFI and IRS I think I'll get the KQ anyway and just pass down the Vinny to my wife. I'm waiting for the 2006 models to come out and all the bugs are worked out but I don't know if I want to wait that long so I'm considering a locker.
