Cool post. Man, a lot of you guys have gone nuts on your quadracers.

Mines a 1985.
Bought it with a rebuilt motor (not sure how much is bored)
New Clutch
I re-did the following:
New MSR bars
Maier plastic
Recovered seat
Powdercoated rims and 12 other pieces
New Rear Tires
Rebuilt carb and put back to stock specs.

Still working out some of the bugs to get this thing to run like it should.

Clutch is giving me grief as it does not shift well.
When I put it in first gear and pull the clutch in, it does not roll as free as when it is in Neutral.
Is this normal? I have adjusted the cluch quite far pulling it in to help engagement and it has helped.
However the clutch lever is quite stiff to pull now.
Are the clutch and tranny systems in these quads pretty good?

Thanks a lot.
Brad

I never knew it was an 85-86 chainguard. It was on there when I bought the quad. It looks factory and bolted right up w/o any mods as far as I can tell. No welded bosses or anything. My bike is in really good shape and has the original engine and frame paint on it still so, I would have noticed any mods to the cover.
Thanks for looking,
Dan

I looked at some of the 87 and up chainguards in other posts and I like the 85-86 guard better! I'm glad mine has a 85-86 on. Looks sportier....if that make sense! too many holes in the 87 and up guard.
