I don't think that it will fit in the frame. If you want more power, you should just bore out your motor, slap on a some Boyesen reeds, a FMF Fatty, and a K&N air filter. If you bore out the motor to a 300, then put on a K&N and a Fatty, you should have around 350cc's or maybe more. That should keep you ahead in some races. But, if you do decide to buy the motor, i would somehow figure your bolt patterns on the 250r motor and then the bolt patterns to the CRF motor. Or if you had the money and time, get a LT500r and beef that up a little and it will be way faster than the CRF 450 motor.

LT249r
That made no sense
Besides, you need a whole differnt jug to get 300cc and a stroker kit to get 350

The most you can bore a stock cylinder is .080 over, wich only ads 15cc, and then you will have a 265

249,
You're a little off in what you think cc's are. Kinda more than can be explained here.

Some people are so hopeless... (LT249R) LOL.

The crf450 motor will fit. if it fits in the TRX250R, then it should fit in the LT250R which has more room in all directions... you might have to modify the backbone or lower the bottom frame tubes though... that 4 stroke cylinder height is a killer. if it was my machine, i would probably lower the bottom frame rails since the frame backbone is such an integral and stressed area.

but why would you waste a perfectly good CRF450 motor. it's just stupid to put it in such a sh*tty frame. still, if you can get it for cheap... it will definitely decimate your 86 motor. It will even give the quadzilla a run for it's money... (55hp stock at the flywheel and a killer power curve)

Your syspenshion is going to be that good anymore. That 4 stroke is prob. about 50-100 lbs more weight wouldnt you say guys?!?!?! If so yer ganna need new springs and you are prob. going to start all over again with they syspension.
