What are the rest of you Vinson owners getting? I have a stock 03 auto. I weigh 220lbs. I had it up to 61mph on the speedo. Does that sound about right?

That is correct!!!!! ABout 60-68 top speed

 

yea my speedo only goes to 62 but iv hit 71 on gps with about 7 pounds in the tires and on flat blacktop, with normal tire pressure and dirt road usually around 65-66

 

I guess my vinson is a peice of junk because i only hit 56-58 mph

62 with more throttle left-rpm's were up there though. (did someone say thats what the gauge tops out at?) Jap-yep youv'e got a lemon. (lol)

But, I didnt buy it for top speed anyways.

 

i must be towing an anchor,i have rejetted carb and have a KN air filtre ,top speed 60 mph,:,THAT S 60 MPH before and after modifications,end of story.

 

That's pretty lame that a Vinson with 120 more ccs than my Eiger will only go 3 MPH faster. Maybe aerodynamics has something to do with it? Has anyone compared final gearing? Are we talking about auto-trans or manual here? Mine's a manual and (on pavement, don't tell the pigs) it will EASILY do 55. That's with maybe 1/4 throttle left and only 50 miles on it so far. I'm thinking after break-in, and WFO throttle I'll have a good 3-4 MPH more.
