i have 98 LT-f500fw quadrunner 4x4 no fire at plug checked voltage to coil only 3 volts traced wire back to cdi unit wire is free of any breaks 4 wires at plug on cdi,two of them have 12 volts,one is ground other goes straight too coil with only 3 volts,do you think cdi unit is my problem i hate to buy a costly electrical device which i most likely can't return is there any simply way to check it i'm just not 100% that it will fix it

 

3 volts sounds bad to me. What does yer service manual say?
