Default Horsepower per cubic inch

TomM, if you zilla was a 4 cycle the numbers would work out a little better. This rough estimate is for thumpers only.

From what you said, you should be getting 350hp from a 350 CI smallblock. And that does happen without too much tweaking.

The raptor has 35hp, 33 in california. YFZ runs about 40 or 41 from 439cc.

You can start your own thread by clicking on the "new thread" button on the top of any page. You dont have to be a supporting member to do anything but see the movies or to look into the garage and swap shop forum.
Actually, from what I said you should get 413 hp. Read my entire post. I talked about ratios of hp from each ci. My Eiger has an approx ratio of 1.18:1 hp/ci. Take the standard displacement of your engine (any engine) in ci and multiply it by 1.18 and you get the horsepower your engine would make IF it was as efficient as my Eiger engine.

AND, it's not very easy to get 413 hp from that smallblock engine w/o sacrificing runability, idle, and fuel economy. Sure I could put headers on with 3" exhaust, a new intake, a new computer with high flow injectors, maybe even a cam. THEN I'd be close to 413. But it would be noisy, idle rough, and drink fuel even worse than it does already.

My point in this thread was to point out that Suzuki, in particular, gets a lot of power out of their engines w/o sacrificing any of those things I mentioned above. If what was said about the Raptor is true, then Suzuki is a lot better at squeezing a 4-stroke than Yamaha is.

Simple as it sounds.....I am pushing about 17 HP on my @300# 3 wheeler. my power to weight ratio is 1hp to 17.65 pounds of bike. Power to weight ratio is one of the main concerns to look at when talking power. That is one of the reasons why most quads out there have problymns beating the 250r trike. Some were 40+hp on a 300# frame (1:7.5#'s). The most impessive numbers I have seen are the new croch rockets on the market today.

Oh yea.......that is why you race the big fat guy instead of the little skinny guy!

Doesn't it seem like the fat guys are the sh#t talkers usually? Always seems to me that they are the ones that do the most bragging.

Wonder Y that is?
