stock suspension on quadzilla any good???
#2
Check denniskirk out. I believe that is where I ordered all my parts for this past winters rebuild. It's not completed yet because of the motor rebuilding still in process, but I did go with aftermarket suspension. The suspension on the stock zillas is ok as long as your not racing. If you plan on racing, then plan on beefing it up.

I had to replace my front shocks (with Works triple rates-no rezzies) and rebuild the rear shock just because they were completely worn out when I bought my 87. I still have all the stock A-arms and swingarm and stuff, and for trails and open fields, and frozen lakes, it seems to soak up all the bumps and ruts with no trouble. Nice and smooth is all I can say. I don't do any high flying jumps or anything, but even with a 5-6 feet up in the air it comes down fairly well with my 250# **** onboard.
As far as longer shocks, you'll need a longer-travel set up (like A-arms) for them to be of any use...

the rear can be rebuilt and revalved to suit your own riding style and weight wich will give better results than any off the shelf aftermarket shock could, it probably wouldnt be as good as custom built aftermarket shocks but there gona cost,
*** far as i know the fronts arent rebildable any further than swapping springs i think

It would help a lot if you stated what your budget is, whether you plan to lengthen the A-arms or swing arm, what type of riding you do, and what you want out of the suspension (i.e. long travel, soft suspension for long rides, firm suspension for jumping).
