I have only 23 hours on my Z-400, and notice that the upper A-Arms have a bit of play in the bushings. Have any of you guys had this problem so early, and what are my replacement options? If the stock OEM bushings wear this fast, I would rather go with better quality aftermarket ones. Also, rear swingarm pivot seems to have a bit of side-to-side play. I do not thrash this machine, just do aggressive trail riding, no big air or anything like that. Have any of you noticed the same looseness on your machines, and what did you do to fix it? Are the stock bushings just cheap crap or what? Any feedback on this subject would be appreciated!!! Thanks.

 

C'mon people!!! Someone has to have similar problems/solutions! Check your bikes and see if they have the same symptoms. Responses would be appreciated!

 

My son-inlaws 03 has some play but we are talking 3/32~4/32.

 

mine probably has 40 or so hrs on it: havent looked for that type of stuff yet, but will tomorrow morning and let u know what i see.

 

no mines got less then 4hrs on it so not a problem but i'll keep an eye on it

http://atvbushings.com/ you can check here for bushings. I don't know if he has 'em for the z400 but I ordered some for my LT250R 3 years ago and there still like new. He sells a polyurethane bushing kit to replace the stock needle bearings and in my opinion is far superior to the needle bearing.

 

hey KFX carnageits fairly easy to become an instructor i found an ad in a state atv magazine and called and talked to the regional rep,if your intrested in becomeing one ,call 800-887-2887 it' ATV SAFETY INSTITUTE,or ASI and explain to the operator what your interested in doing . i became one because i saw too many un educated people riding atv and no instruction for them . its a perty cool class to train as a instructor 4 days worth , i went to california for training . the average class when your an instructing new students last around 4 hours , the students get a money back from the manufacture a bout a hundred dollars , depending which machine they buy the compansation veries form the different manufactor. but the instructor also gets paid around 35dollars per student with a max of 8 students per class so 8x35= 280 - taxes so it's worth it plus your giving back to the sport you love . any other questions email me at deanz400@hotmail.com

 

Did you contact your dealer to see if they would fix the problem? With only 23 hours on the quad, shouldn't that be covered under warranty?

 

The dealer probably caused the problem by slapping thing togethr and not checking torques. I've known a few dealerships like that. Barely a few hours out and bolts are rattling off left and right.
