Just Had the z250 jetted!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I just picked up my Z from the shop. I rode it a little but didnt have the room to open it up. I will keep you posted on the outcome. They put a 132.5 main jet in from the stock 125 . the mechanic says he raced a stock Z and blew him away!!! I cant wait untill saturday to see what it can do !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

They removed the plastic restricter plate on the inside of the air box lid ,installed a twin air filter and put a 132.5 main jet in,( they left the piliot jet and piliot screw alone) They also did a FULL SERVICE and adjusted the valves for $230.00 (a little steap to me) Oh well
Performance: I noticed alot of power gain in the mid range!!! I do alot of trails and it is awesome with the pipe and jetted. The bottom end gained a good bit too , I didnt notice alot of gain on top end but It may just feel that way. It is very responsive and snappy!!! When I am riding in the trails I can throw it around the corner like nothing.
For some reason it feels like it shifts alot smoother also. Before having it jetted the pipe was glowing red at mid to full throttle, now that it is jetted it is alot better ( glows very little )
DMC says the z-250 doesnt need to be jetted when installing the pipe, but it seemed lean to me, so I didnt want to take that chance . I am glad I had it done , it realy woke it up!!!! I also noticed a difference before jetting with and without the quiet core. So if you are going to jet it remeber to do all your mods first ,like air box, filter and quiet core !!!
The mechanic raced a stock z250 and blew him away on mine. I raced a 250 ex today, and it couldnt touch me. Next week I hope to race my cousins blaster and hopefully beat him too!! If the rear wheels are'nt spining, the front wheels are in the air!!!

good lord dude you have sank a ton of money into that thing. Mine I run with a few little mods and high octane and it will still do what u say yours does now stock zs cant touch me either straight line or in woods race. And like u said if the rears arent spinning the fronts are in the air. O i have a twin air filter to that thing makes a pretty big difference I am going to have my neighbor who races a YZ250 in the pro-class around here adjust my clutch engagement, my timing, rejet for no airbox lid and no baffle, wire my grips, and adjust my valves (hopefully) for nothing all I do is supply the hardware and he will do the work. He volantered if I said that right to do this.

I do have alot of $$$ into it. The thing is I bought it for $3600.00 delivered to my door step!!! So the money I have invested w/ the quad adds up to about $4800.00 or so. That is close to what some people are paying out the door for a stock Z-250. I know I could have bought a Z-400 for the $$ I have invested but then I would have to put even more $$ to make it look like my 250 does. The 250 is great for me , especialy since piped and jetted!!!!
It isnt the fastest quad out there by a long shot, but it is a great , reliable and alot of fun to ride little quad, that I call mine (untill my son takes it and I will get a z450 or something)

Well I raced the blaster today and he pulled away in the bottom end but on the top end I pulled away. These 2 quads are night and day! I like the high reving 2-stroke but am still very happy with my ltz 250. It may not be real fast, but it can realy rip through the trails. I was hanging with a 400ex in the trails today, only he has alot more power on reserve, when needed!!!
