we did something like that with my car when i bought it.
the only thing i got from the guy when i bought the quad was a piece of paper saying i bought it from him for $2000 and we both signed our names.

I just went through this.

Take Quad to local DMV/BMV and they will inspect it. Cost $2.50. Then you have 30 days to take the inspection certificate to state annex (or wherever you get your titles from)and they will issue a title. Cost $5.00.

I live in Campbell, Ohio/ Youngstown, Ohio. Near Cleveland.

at the inspection the lady wrote down the Serial# and looked at the quad and said "well, it has 4 wheels so it's a four wheeler" and asked what make, model, year it is. If you tell them its a 1988 Suzuki LT250RJ thats what your title will say. then with the title you can have it insured and registar it.

I don't know how much it cost to register it. I think mine cost around $15(2years ago) but i never renewed it.
