Default help please

well, i dropped my z400 off at the local dealer today because i broke it in and i need an oil change and new oil filter and things looked over or whatever. i think that the stock z is geared too high and i wanted to go down in sprocket sizes i wanted to go down from a 14(stock) to a 13, however, the mechanic said he does many changes on sprockets and he said that its best to go to a 12. i want more acceleration but i dont want to lose 10mph to get that, so can someone please tell me if i should go for a 13 or a 12 tooth front sprocket. thanks

thats what i wanted because you gain acceleration but you dont lose too much top, the mechanic said that you wont even notice a difference if you go to a 13. but he said a 12 would be better, i think 12's a little too low

If you are not changing your tire size and don't want to lose big MPH on your top end, I would stick w/ dropping just 1 tooth on the front. My experience is that with that being the only change that 2 teeth is too much.
