Default Save your money on an exhaust for an LTZ250

I recently purchased a LTZ 250 at the beginning of the year. Great little quad. I am a dad with two young kids and was not looking for a "super go fast" quad. I did however want to get a little more performance out of the bike. I did a lot of research on the WB E2, Alien, Pro Circuit, ALBA. Through my conversations with several manufacturers, I came to realize that a full system was not really going to make a huge difference for the money. I decided on the Pro Circuit for $254.00. I got in the mail about 4 days later and was getting ready to put it on. Very excited. Before I did however, I decided to compare the stock set up against my buddies LTZ 250. Dead even!!! Whoever came out of the hole first generally won.

Put on the pipe. Attaches in minutes. The silencer (exhaust) slips onto the stock header of the 250, but the diameter of the exhaust is much larger by about 1/16. This causes the quad to have a severe exhaust leak at the joint (hot air on the legs..., noisy joint.) A little discouraged, I decided I could always do a mod to the exhaust and remedy the problem. I wanted to test drive it first so I could feel the difference.

Cranked right up...Sounded GREAT. Looks really good. Not a loud pipe at all.
Put my quad right against my friends to see the difference. 1, 2, 3, GO. The quad showed no performance increase at ALL. Ran a couple of trials to make sure and it made no difference.

Soooooo, I decided to run the quad with no exhaust to see if it was just the Pro Circuit. No difference!!!

In conclusion don't waste your money if you only want performance. Luckily I am able to get a full refund minus s/h.

No keep the exhaust, take off your airbox lid, and have it re-jetted.

Yep. Need to re-jet first then make some runs. The pipe should have come with a bushing or it is the wrong pipe. There is no way it should leak that bad.

It probably said "No Need to Rejet" somewhere didn't it? Don't be fooled by this. A lot of exhaust companies seem to try to get that message across. It may work without being rejetted, but you will not notice any performance gains without modifying the fuel/air mixture going into the engine to compensate for the added flow.

I read in a magazine that the stock jet is a 150 and with the box off and a pipe you should go with a 175. Anyone else have recommendations?
