What kind of oil do I need to put in my Z250 (can I use regular quakerstate 10w-40 from the gas station?) and how many quarts do I need?

 

no. use atv oil i use gn4 honda oil in my z400. it should say on the motor how much oil to put in it.

 

We use the Honda oil on all of our quads.

 

I use Mobil one MX4t in mine and it is full-synthetic no clutch slippage that I am aware of, runs great.

 

the owners manual should say what you can use. Itll probably say it must have an SG rating, the newer oils for cars arent rated for SG.
Basicly ,if it has an energy conserving label on the bottle,( star burst symbol) dont use it. It should say its for motorcycles and atvs with a wet clutch. Valoline makes a good atv oil, that almost all auto parts stores carry.

I would use Honda GN4 (petrolium) in anything with an autoclutch, like the Z250. I am not sure about Suzuki, but Honda doesn't recommend synth oil in autoclutch bikes. And Honda HP4 (synth/petrolium blend) in anything with a manual hand clutch, like the Z400.
