Mines a 92. Today I broke the Left one. It snapped clean off right below the spindle part. That makes a pair. I broke the other pne last year, it just snapped off driving through a field. Today I hit a stump...but this seems like a bit of a weak point. Its welded up and everythings happy, but still.

Is it a common problem or is mine just a fluke?

 

I wonder if it is possible to have a bent spindle? My 500's left wheel is leaning toward the bike at the top of the tire. The bearings are in great shape. Guess I'll pull the wheel and hub off and check it.

Never have broken one, though.

 

I own an 89LT and when I got it it was in rogh shape. I couldn,t get the front brakes working hardly.
I looked at the spindles and they were bent. I bought new spindles and they work awesome. So it is posible to bend them.
