Default how does an ltz400 stack up to an lt250R

my friend has a kfx400, and i have an 88 LT...We both have basically the same mods of pipes air filters and jets. His has a lot of torque, thats the first thing i notice. It will pull the front wheels in 4th gear easily. Mine will pull the wheels easy too, but i have to be on the pipe to get it up. Both of ours handle well, but his is obviously gonna be a lot smoother and nicer feel to it. My shocks are 16 years old and his are 2 years old. I think on the track they would be even, in a drag the LT would win, and on trails the Z/KFX would win. We havent compared them against each other yet, but the day is coming.

I just got my Z last wednesday and rode all day Sat. and Sun., I've ridden a lot of different quads and bikes and this one is the funnest. You can ride it hard and it won't where you out like the 250's and new 450's will. If you trail ride, this is the way to go IMO.

MrJohnson
Shorter stroke means it will torque up faster which is a great thing lol
WRONG
A longer stroke ads torque. A shorter stroke allows you to rev higher.

Anyways. My 86 will beat most mildly modded Z400 and 400ex, and still cost about $3000 less

its simple to adjust just remove the to screws by the adjuster pull the adjuster out and seat the spring then turn the adjuster 360 degrees this will put you very close you may still have to fine tune it because its supposed to be adjusted for aftermartket pipes and port work

No, you are wrong my friend. Just like in a drag car, the shorter the stroke, the faster it torques up like a 350 chevy against a 427 chevy for instance. The 350 will bust his @$$ out of the hole, but on top end the 350 is history.

No the first quote by Slacker1bob is correct.A longer stroke gives you more torque and a shorter stroke will allow quicker and higher revs with all other things being equal on the engines. To get the drag engines to deliver lots of torque and horsepower they are revved to the moon. The only way a 350 will blow away a 427 out of the hole is if the 427 can't get hooked up because it has too much torque.

When you guy's say "TOURQUE'S UP QUICKER",Cuz I'm getting the same message here as like saying "REV'S UP QUICKER".Longer stroke = more tourque, shorter stroke = quicker rpm's,kinda like switching bicycle peddle crank's,longer peddle arm's more torque or spin on the rear tire, shorter peddle arm's less spin on the rear tire but quicker peddling.Kinda like leverage or choking up on a hammer the more your choke up on the handle the less torque or driving power to the nail.

Get a Z you will enjoy it, plus you won't have to deal with all the pi55ing matches (like these) just to get a straight answer.
