Vinson 500 2003 different than vinson 500 2002?

Vinson 500 2003 different than vinson 500 2002?
I am trying to fix my vinson...my friend borrowed it and rolled it ruining the rear carrier. I found a rear carrier for 286.00 from ronnies...however i found the same exact looking rear carrier but for a 2002 vinson for 160.00
i dont see why they'd change something as miniscual as a plastic design/carrier location when that would cost millions in research and developement for one...and for two the 2002 looks identical to the 2003...
what im getting at is that i want to pick up the 2002 carrier hoping it will work...any suggestions.
I know the model number on ronnies only has a single digit different in it than the 2003 model.

oh and following up on this for all of you vinny owners...
the 02 parts are IDENTICAL to the 03 parts (plastic's frame etc etc)
DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY ON A PART THAT IS "FOR AN 03 ONLY"...THEY ARE ALL THE SAME.
