Default zilla main bearings

I have heard about some problems with the zilla main bearing holders, what exactly goes wrong with them and how do you fix it?

The problem is a bearing boss issue. What happens is the bearing holders on the cases overheat and the boss,s become oblonged. Allowing movement in the bearing race It will always cause engine failure if the problem happens to you. If the zilla has not been modded or raced hard it's not a big problem but if your engine has had port work and mods. Over time your probably going to have a problem. There is a company called tudors performance. That will boss your cases with a steel liner some use brass but they say the steel boss's are better and you will not have anymore problem's But you must split your cases or send them the engine...

Do a search on here regarding Tudors before you send them ANYTHING!

A little more detail to what rooster was saying.... The bearings and cases are dissimilar metals, and expand at different rates with temperature. Over time and use, the bearing seat (boss) gets 'hammered' out and oblonged so as the bearing is no longer retained properly. This usually causes increased vibration, and eventual failure of crank seals.

My $.02
