Default Plus 2 a-arms

Does anybody know what the difference is between plus 2 arms and long travel arms? I would like to use the same shocks that I have. I was told I could use them but not on long travel arms. Or are they the same.
Thanks Mucky

i think long travel are usualy +3, they allow the quad to sit lower to the ground, lowering the center of gravity and improving the handling, but at the same time offer at least the range of travel as your stock suspension, if not more,

there mainly used in mx, as the gncc type racers dont want the quad lower or too wide,

depending on wich quad youve got and your riding style, the best compromise is to go +2 with a 4-1 offset wheel for the trails to keep reasonably narrow and then use the normal 3-2 to get extra width for the mx track,

either way you will need to mod or replace your shocks cos the extra width of the a-arm produces more leverage against the shock, making it feel softer and more prone to bottoming out,

hope this helps

Thanks. That helps alot. I was told by ELKA suspension I can use the shocks I have but I have to change the main spring to a heavier one
