Default need less air on bottom, more air on top

I just put my ct pipe on, and can't get my air problem tuned in. If I put the lid and snorkle on, it runs good to half throttle, but bogs on top. If I take them of, it bogs 1/4 - 1/2 throttle. WTF? Will playing with needle and air mix settings fix this, or do I just need to find a happy medium and deal with the hick-ups?

Full system, and we'll call it race core, it's the only one they sell.

yes. 165 Main, airbox lid removed, 3rd clip down on needle, air screw 2.5-3 turns out. It has a sluggish spot from 1/4 - 1/2 throttle where it's getting too much air.

If your runnin a 165 with a slip I wonder if I shouldn't step up to a 175 or so. I can't believe your able to run stock needle with your slip. when I cut out my pea shooter on my stock exhaust, I had to put a washer under the c-clip remove the cap on the snorkle and drill out six 3/8 holes in th lid to get it to run right.
