Default Modding the Z400

What do you guys recomend when starting out modding on the Z? I said I wouldn't ever mod it, but it has totally changed now. Anybody have a small list of what I need to do first? I'm still breaking it in but right after the mods are going on. It is going to be addictive I see.

Hmm, would taking the air box lid off now do anything? It being stock and all.

Aaran has it right. Don't take the airbox lid off unless you're prepared to jet it. For a little initial power increase, you could take the lid off and rejet to get you by for a while. Otherwise, just wait until you get a pipe for it. You can get a Dynojet kit (probably about $50) that will give you all of the jets that you'll need for just taking the airbox lid off all the way to putting a pipe on it. Just depends on if you want to mess with it or not.

I got pretty noticeable gains with my Raptor just taking the lid off and rejetting. I think it would be the same with the Z due to the small hole it has in the airbox.

Let us know what you decide and if it works!

I wouldnt buy a jet kit(dyno jet kit) Mine didnt even come with pilot jets. Anyways it would be cheaper to find out what jets you need and go get them from the dealer for like $18 instead of spendin $50.
