Default More Z400 Problems. Help!

About an hour ago I was riding and it started to pop, sputter a bit, and then finally die. It did this just after I first got it which was a week ago today, though I figured out that problem was from not letting it warm up long enough. Now the fan comes on as if I'm riding it hard, which I'm not, I was cruising through the field, after the fan is on for about a minute it goes through it's motion, pop, spit, sputter, whatever else, and then die. I let it set for about 30 minutes and tried it again and it rode fine for about 1 minute and then the motions started again. I really do like the Z when it is running correctly, but to buy something new and it do this after a week of riding really is disapointing. Any help on this is appreciated. You Z400 guys have helped me on a lot of things so far so maybe this one won't be so bad.

I hadn't read the replies until now and yes, it was low on gas. I feel kinda stupid. I never thought to check the gas because I had put some in the day before but I had done a ton of riding and didn't think about it. It died earlier on me and I took the gas cap off and looked in and noticed I could see the bottom of the tank. I put gas in it and it ran fine. You guys had it right on the dot.

Just don't turn it to reserve BEFORE you go riding 20mi. out in the middle of nowhere without extra gas cans. Your friend will not be happy towing you back home. I coulda kicked that jackass. put about an hour dent in our ride time.

I'm trying to keep this one filled up everytime I ride now. Reconranger, how do you like your 450R? I thought about getting one while looking at the 400EX but the kick start and no reverse turned me off, I wish I would've thought some more about it now, but I'm happy so far with the Z400. There was a guy on a 450R at the races that killed everything. It was on an MX track. There was a Raptor, 400EX, Predator, and the 450R. The Predator kept up decently but didn't have a chance. There wasn't a lot there but it is a new track. I'm hoping to see the two that weren't there that ride a YFZ and KFX 400 at the next race.
