In 06, all bikes have to meet stricter emissions standards. It could be that the engine upgrades, patricularly the bigger carb, are aimed toward that end??? Notice that the 400EX got a bigger carb this year, and Honda announced that it meets the emissions standards a year early.

Or, even with the bigger carb, the performance may have to be serverly detuned to meet emissions???

And, I think things got a little boring over in the Yamaha forum, so ExtremeRider came over here to make trouble!

 

Ya, with the new upgrades the Z got.....I don't see how it could be worse then 04...........the 05's are sweet.....

.. as for the white and blue looking like a girl quad...ya in stock..but with a graph. kit I'm sure it would look good...I still like it better then the yellow..IMO

 

it is said that the 04 is so much better but i do have 2 say the 05 looks really sweet

I thought I heard that too...{it was gonna be a 450 power house}on a couple of the shows
they've been calling it the '05 Z450. I'm confused.That Sport ATV show for one ya know
the one w/ kids runnin it. Well the bald guy who gives a run down of the new machines
said Suzuki's '05 Z450 was comin up in one of the next couple of shows.

 

ya the 05 does look Really nice but man they said its not going to make it as big as the 04

 

the yellow one looks nicer with the yellow shocks. I don't really like the blue and white one though, the normal white looked better.

............ alsoooo don't believe everything you hear from magazines. Remember that shootout between the Z250 and the 250ex in dirtwheels, and then other magazines said the completly opposite? There's no way the 2005 could be worse than the 2004. The dealers tell you that so they can get rid of the 04's laying around.

 

that could be true. well i happen to like the blue one although the yellow is very nice itself... ya i remember the 250ex against the z250 -- i guess it could be false but ya never know!

 

The only dissapointing thing that I see about the 05' is that it is not yet a 450! But worse, no way!
