Mudman, what do you contribute the damage to your CV boots to, was it normal wear or did something happen to rip them open? Just wondering so I know what to look for. My KQ is a '99 M.Y. What year is yours? And did you put them on yourself or the dealer? I will be looking into guards for you but someone here may have an answer already, hopefully. Good luck...

Personally I think they are all about the same.

I have Cycle Country guards on my machine. Make sure you get steel, no plastic. The guards are very easy to put on, If I remeber right they use two "U" bolts on each side. They take about 5 minutes to put on.

I don't own a king quad, but on my 4x4, I have Oxlite cv boot guards. There are very heavy duty, and provide awesome protection. A lot of riders don't like cv guards, because mud/ice/rocks build up in the guards and rub on the cv joints causing the boot to tear. Personally, I rather have the guards on. I've torn one boot with the guards on and torn one without the guards on. Just my input.

I have OEM (from suzuki) guards myself. They are steel and fairly easy to install. I would have to agree with the comments that they are about the same and get steel not plastic.

Well, there you go Mudman! I haven't had a chance to go out looking for CV guards yet but you now have a variety of styles to investigate yourself. Are these guys good or what?
