Default lt125, welded on, won't start, has spark

I am in need of some suggestions. I have a 1985 suzuki lt125 quad. It doesn't have a battery or electric start. I welded a mounting bracket that had broken on it and now it won't start. I pulled the plug and it had spark. It ran fine this morning before the welding. Any ideas?????

Did you accidentally hit a wire while welding or touch the engine with the weld? That may affect it.

What kind of welder did you use?

I used a mig wire welder. I have checked all wires and they're ok. It is definitely not a fuel problem as a little ether in the cylinder evokes no response. It does still have spark, and I've tried replacing the stator with a good one that I had laying around. No luck. I was wondering if the cdi box may have gotten fried. It has given me just a couple of small backfire pops but noting that makes me think its trying to run.
