Kick Start Question
#1
Hi I bought a 1987 LT230 Quad sport and was wondering what could I do to have the bike start in just a few kicks instead of 20. I have already changed the spark plugs. Is there anything else I can do that is not to expensive. I am kind of new to working on bikes so try to please explain. Thanks for all your help.

im not sure if my case is the same as yours.but when i first got my 230,it did the same thing.but after running it for about a week and tweeking everything it starts on the first kick every time.have you tried choking it or using the decompression perch ?you might also try adjusting the carb.just my 2 cents

I have one and they are just hard to start. Try priming the cylinder by useing the decompression lever and kicking it extremly slow a few times then kick as hard as you can. also you could pull it behind a truck or other quad in gear an pop the clutch to start it

it is the little lever right above the clutch.but the actual peice is on the right side of the engine.be sure to watch it because alot of times when i pull mine it gets stuck, but u can just reach down there and push it back up.hope this helps
