No they were not it was just put out around 2000. It can be used on a new liner and such.

well what is the cylinder made of and how much would it cost bore?

Probabaly just a standard steel metal. I would say google it. FInd a place and ask them. Standard boring is not expensive. Hell you can probably find a place to nickelsil it if that is what you want.

A bore job is about $40.

Nikasil is a metal coating that is applied to the cylinder to gives it a stronger surface and reduce friction.
