Default lt250 questions

i have an 85 lt250r and its a peice. it needs to be rebuilt it has almost no compression (but i guess thats what you get for a $900 quad) my questions are

1. were can i find a piston with a.080 bore ? (i have a mag. with wisco pistons in it but they only have up to .060 bore)the reason i need that piston is i have another head allready to that bore.

2.how much of a difference do the exhaust valves on newer models make?

3.Is it worth it to put alot of money in my 85(restore it ) or should i just rebuild it , sell it , and get a newer one?

(my engine is bored out now but im not sure what 2 the old owner didnt know, but i think its like .020 or .040 , it will probaly fly with the .080 , huh? )

Umm, i believe that you can go all the way to 120 over, go to rockymountainatv.com and look it up. The Powervalves (exhaust valves) on the newer ones are what make the difference in the fact a lt 250 can beat a 250R...(i think) Its up to you on weahter to restore or not, i would like the niceites of not haveing to spen $16 dollars on gas, not having to go and buy mix, having reverse. But i liek the fact my bike is damn fast. Its all down to what you want...

From my experience the powervalve motors in the 87-92 models are alot better. If you like 2-strokes and you want something that will run with the big guys for alot less money the LT's are a great way to go. If not you can always go to a thumper, but you will spend 3 times the money to go the same speed.
