Do you guys think a 53hp yoshi z-450 will beat a yfz-450?

well what happens when you (bulldogz) race the yfz=450? Also buddah what do you mean dead heat does that mean they were even or what? Which is faster? Flat land

My race was at the back side of Pismo that looked much like the flats without the whoops.
Him with the mods I listed above, and me with mine on race gas...
Start...pull him by maybe 1/2 quad length for first 300-350 ft, and once I shift into fourth he starts to pull on me. I am geared very well for 300 ft, come out of the hole very fast, but after that is when I start to fall behind. By the end of the race he would be ahead by about 2 lengths.
I have also raced a Yoshi 450 at Armagosa dunes, but on comp hill not the flats. I easily pulled him up the hill, but who knows how well set-up he was. Gearing, tire combos, tuning, are all more important in those kinda races.

Well considering that the yfz-450 you race has more mods onit than most do around me. There isnt really much dune riding in illinois so mainly 300 foot drags. Some guy on this forum bought the yoshi kit and had a mehcanic do it and came out unhappy. Just think the guy had a bad builder. Also what do you have to do the engine to run on alky. could i do it once i get my engine back or what??? Also i will be throwing my No2 on the yoshi 450. Probably a 5hp or 10hp shot to keep things safe and running good.

It was a tie at the top of the hill. On the flat, my YFZ get's out of the hole quicker, but my Yoshi will catch it at the end of the race. It definitely has more top end then my YFZ. My YFZ has more snap but my Yoshi has broader smoother power.

Have owned both and I really don't think you will get a 53 HP fully modded Z440 to come close to the YFZ. The second day I had mine I raced my buddy on his Z440 with cams and FCR 40. The only thing I did to the YFZ was pull the baffle. He weighed about 60 lbs less than me minimum, and I beat he by 2-3 quad lengths time after time. It's just not as fast even done up.

Its not going to be a 440, it is a true 450. Besides my friend has a yfz-450, with what i have i was only about 3 quad lengths or less behind him in a 300foot drag. I can usaully get the whole shot on him and if i drop a tooth in the fron sproket it should definatly give me more power. With N02 i would smoke him so bad it wasnt funny!!!!

did anyone see a dirt wheels issue a few months ago. there was a shoot out between a z-450, predator, and yzf 450. they did a drag race and the yzf got everyone off the start, and the Z cought up to the yzf by the end of the race and the predator was just blow away. i belive the it is all about the rider, i have seen modified 300ex's beat banshees in drag race because od the rider on the ex was a better rider, also some gearing changes could help you too.
