Hey guys, just got my z400 today, and this thing is bad! I just have some questions since im new to the z. How big of jumps can it handle, and ive read on here about removing the airbox lid. Does that hurt the engine in any way?

if you take off the airbox lid, extra dirt and stuff is gonna get in there and that's no good

If you're concerned w/ dirt getting in, get some of those inserts that go into 1" holes for the lid. They're made by UNI.- D. Kirk carries 'em for 9.99 per six pack.

If you remove your airbox you better rejet. If you don't it could cause damage to your engine.

yea I agree with the above post. if u think that it would sound better and want a very minute power gain try to take the baffle out of the exhaust, that should lean out the jetting just enough to gain more power without leaning it out to much. Dont do that if you have neighbors that would not appreciate a loud exhaust though.

Taking your lid off the airbox is going to give you more power, especially once you get the exhuast. Of course your going to pick up a little more dirt than usuall but thats why you get a K&n so if the filter gets to dirty you can clean it. THe easier your engine breaths the faster it will rev up which = FAST. As for jumps it can take what most quads can, aslong as you jump it correctly......ie ...landing ramp. If you do a jump and land on flat ground it tends to hurt the quad alittle more.
