I can't find one of the ones I was loking for. There are normally some on e bay for older arctic cat el tigre's with the air cooled 5000 motors. Here are 2 examples. The first is probably overpriced, and can be found for cheaper. http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eB...me=rvi%3A1%3A2
The second may be the ticket, and is under $10 shipped. I recently aquired a new project (Dt400 2 cycle dual sport) that is an air cooled 2 cycle so I am considering getting one. I may try and dig one up later. If i find a reasonable one, I'll post it for you.

Here is the link to the second thing I was talking about. It's cheap and easy at least http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eB...category=35595
The round gauges would require mounting either on a custom handle bar mount, or the easier route would be to remote mount it, and just check it when you think there may be a problem, or just whenever you have the chance. I suppose you could get brave and cut out the fender and mount it there.

I would assume they are fairly accurate, to at least 5 degree's give or take. They would most likely read consistant, so you would know if something changed. I wouldn't be surprised if they used them on race bikes. They weigh nothing, and would be the first clue that something may be wrong, and it's time to get out the backup bike/motor.

I wouldn't worry about overheating your engine too much. You would has to ride the hell outa that thing with like no oil in it before you have a problem. I went to WV yesterday on my Z with 3 other guys on 4x4's. I was riding for about 4 hours with the throttle pinned and about 1/2 of mud plastered to my engine and didn't have a problem with overheating. When the fins are covered in mud thats when the highest chance of overheating occurs, so keep them somewhat clean, and keep your oil level good and carb adjusted properly and you should be fine.
