I have a 86 suzuki lt250R and I am getting all the bugs worked out of it and keep upgrading and putting better (highpeformance parts and brand new parts) on this quad. I was wondering How reliable are these quads? I seems liek mine breaks atleast once a week and i keep fixing and fixing it. Please let me know what you guys think.

Yea, my 85 LT250R is all stock (what the 2nd owner said). I had my 85 250R for 5 months. Atleast 7 rides. Approximately 56 hours on it, that i put on it. 2 rides on trails. other 5 rides on dunes.. NEVER had a problem. Always fired up.. No mechanical problems, no electrical problems, NOTHING! So i guess my 85 250R was just a good find...plus it didnt have a green sticker registered for 10 years, so it was ridden on private property. the one thing it needs to be changed is the rear shock... Nothing else.....
To make sure your quad is in good running condition. Clean the carbs. every 3-6 trips.. Clean the air filter every trip...make sure the spark plug, is correctly adjusted.. NUMBER 1 Thing.. How YOU ride teh quad... ride it HARD. Things will WEAR out faster.. That's what you call PROBLEMS, start coming....so there it is..
