Do you think a z400 with a stock piston can go faster with both hot cams. I had them put in my Z and I dont see any performance. the bike runs fine but i need to up the jet a little.

 

you need to rejet
the cams have taller lobes and are made
to open the valves more to let in more air
you wont notice much in hp till you get it piped and rejetted

 

I have a dmc pipe and a dyno jet/k+n filter kit.

 

it sounds like your jetting is off

 

didnt you post this topic a couple days ago.......................couldn of been some one else. But if you dont feel any performance at all than you probably dont have the timing right on the cams. First time i had mine put in the dealership did them wrong and would admit to it .Pretty sad. But then i had a new mechanic put them in right and i felt the power increase after that. If you do trail riding and not alot fo open spaces just put the intake cam in only.

Oh, ya i remember when this happend to me, i was pist. Just spent all that doe ray me on the cams and lost power. Try taking it to some one else and have them check the degree timing on the cams. I garruntee u thats what the prob is. Now you know you gong to lose a little low end with both cams.

 

Murdr, just make sure you let us know how that yoshi runs. And one more question, will yoshi use your hot cams or is they going to put in there cams.

 

They are using the hotcams they are practicly the same.
