How hard was it to rejet y our z400. I have the same atv, and received my HMF pipe today. I am not asking what jet to use, I just want to know how to do it. It looks awful tight behind the carb. Can I just loosen the boot and rotate the carb to get to the jet, or do I need to remove plastic, and really tear into it. THanks. Mike

I losened the air boot rings roatated the carb and pulled the bottom off.
Gotta watch them bottom 4 carb screws. They will strip very easily.I had to regroove my screws with a Dremel.

You didnt have to remove anything else to get this done. It sure looks tight in there. Thanks for responding. I will attempt this tomorrow, and thanks for the heads up on the screws and their ease of stripping. Mike

you can just loosen it up and turn it...but i took some plastic off and the tank so i could disconnect the lines and i took mine out cause i had to easy-out one of the screws in it cause it didnt want to turn..and i cleaned the carb and also did the needle anad spring while i was at it..it was easy as could be....if you can handle a screw driver you can do it...
