Default THE RIDE Report fully worked vinsons, that wheelie!!

well guys its official, the videos are soon to follow, i now have a vinson that will do flip over backwards wheelies

my setup is

HMF pipe- the origional loud aZZ, one
126, dynojet
3, on the needle
48 pilot
2 3/4 on air screw

web cam
intake, .004
exhaust .006

uni filter

and now soon to follow clutch, and works shocks.

guys you have heard rumors about wheeling you vinson well this one actually does, it has tire smoking power (with 589s), and frount lifting action on demand.

i am getting videos this friday for cold hard proof.

what improvements do you notice with the cam? where did it pick up performance? did you lose any top speed? can't wait to see the video. I have a dalton clutch kit on the way I will let you know how it works. Are you sure its a 48 pilot?? that seems way to high. stock is a 35 and I run a 38. just wondering

sorry man, i meant a 38pilot, i just got far too excited when i wrote this and spaced out.

the cam is better than the pipe(much better) the power is unreal, it revvs like a 2stroke, and will smoke the tires, wheelies are for sure, and the powers always there, it feels like more power than low in H off the start, i would say i love it!!!

glad you like it. did you get anymore top end speed? and whats the cost? I think I got to have one now. I do a lot of high speed riding and don't want to lose any top end. thanks for the input

This probably sounds like a newbie cam inquiry.........because it is. An aftermarket cam from either webcams or hotcams, will every machine respond to it so greatly as the Vinson does? Does it reduce fuel economy? Does it somehow make the machine louder with the stock exhaust? Are there any reliability issues in the long-term with a different cam?

it does not increase noise at all and i think on your rubi that i will really help in the power department, alot, vinson295- all i did was gain power no loss at all, it accecorates in 0-65 in half the time, i seriously think that it will do 70mph. reliability is tough to tell, but i think it should be fine as long as you install it properly. web cams seem to be good guys to work with for the most part.

the cam was 235, you pay that and if you want you can get a credit of 125 i think for your old cam so the total thing only costs like 110 bucks.

as for fuel economy, i cant tell yet, i for one know i get about 135mi out of a tank mabey more if i dont push it, i also know for a fact that my rubi gets the crappiest, gas milage of anything, but it seems much much much better with the 424 installed, i really dont think the difference will be that noticeable, but when you rip apart the big bore bikes, you wont be thinking about looseing a mile or to on gas. i am thinking of running premium gas, but there seems to be no pinging so i think i will stick to 87 for a while, and brake her in. change the oil(mobil 1)and filter, and then ride it for a bit. to my surprise it runs smoother and idles better, and there is absolutely no off throttle pop, and the motor seems to run cooler

for the time being i have to fix my rubi(electrical fire)because the 2 main wire + and - that go to the batter melted on the exhaust, and then grounded out on the frame. it stalled the bike, no power. but luckly its just a matter of putting in new wireing, being my electronics arent damaged thankfully

So there's seriously no cons to having an improved cam?

You can still keep it as a sport-UTILITY though can't you? As in, you can still tractor along pulling a large load and hauling stuff when necessary, right?
