THE WORST THING EVER
#1
ok,as many of you know,i have been whining and whining about my 87 quadracer for months on here,i finally got the last of the parts today, and i got to where i needed to put the magneto/flywheel on,and i wasnt to sure of myself, and my neighbor boasted that he has done it a million times,so i handed it over to him,he used his impact wrench, and two seconds later the threads on my brand new wiseco hot rod crankshaft are GONE!!!! the threads stripped pretty far out, because he used two lock washers.and it looks like there are enough threads left to hold the magneto/flywheel on,but i cant get a bolt past the damaged part of the threads. So i think im screwed into buying a new crank again,170 frigin dollars---------any advice?

Sorry to hear about your stupid neighbor. Make him chip in and pay for the thing. The moron boasted about having done this many times. If he doesnt pay up then you now know what kind of friend he really is.
Good luck

find someone, or buy, a metric thread file...I took my sidecase off and found a stripped out tranny shaft with the nut just layin on there...and we got the file and it took my dad maybe an hour to file it, but we just had to buy a new nut and it was fine. I have no clue where to get one, but it saved us sooo much time and money it is amazing. The threads turned out to look like brand new.

Do what LT2Fiddy said and clean up the threads. After they are cleaned up, don't use any lock washers at all. Buy some blue lock tight and put that on the threads in place of the lock washers. Let it sit over night before ridding.
Good luck.
Good luck.
