z400 whellies
#11
Z400's are the best wheelie quad I've ever ridden. No-handed wheelies on them are sooooooooooo easy it's not even funny....If I had the cash I'd pick one up.
Ps.....You should be able to pull a stock Z400 up in 5th.....it's all about timing.

I would say they are the best wheely quad from decent to high speed wheelies, but the ex's are definately better "wheely crawlers", really really slow wheelies, the Z doesn't lug enough to do a constant wheely at a walking speed.

My ex used to flood out to, but it doesn't anymore since I did the motor work, and the Z will only go so slow in a wheely because it stalls even while it is balanced perfectly, (stock). I dont know how slow ur talking, but I mean SLOW, the z will ride all day long in first, but that is at more of a faster rolling pace. (hard to explain while typing)

As for the "slow" that I'm talking about on the Z400....slow enough so somebody can walk in front of you, hold onto the front bumper, and then move away again....so about as slow as you can go really.
I guess all quads are different though....even if they are the same model. I'm really impressed with his Z400 and it makes me want one pretty bad. Like I said, my favorite thing about them is how easy they are to do no-handers with.....With my EX, the farthest I ever rode one was probably between 75-100ft, but with my buddies Z I could roll them over 300ft after only trying it out a few times. Now I bet if I had a big enough place, I could go 10 times that....lol.....Man, Suzuki did something right.

Well we have the same definition of slow then. I don't know if my Z is geared higher or what, but there is know way it would idle on the rear without stalling. If I dropped a tooth on the front it would be a different story though. Anyway, the Z is a lot funner to do a variation of tricks on, and does feel better balanced.
You ever try to ride a wheelie laying down using the clutch and throttle with ur feet while hanging on to the rear fenders. I havn't got it down to a science yet, but can ride it a little ways. The only problem is when I let out of the clutch my leg cramps really bad.
