Default Vin # Question ??? HELP !!!

I bought a used frame on e bay for my '87E, it was billed as being from an '87S. But, now that I have it, I think it's from an '86S. It has a different front engine mount, My 87 has a single bolt that goes though bosses in the frame, the new frame has 4 tapped holes that seemed to hold brackets. My frame has a Vin number JSAAJ46A7H211...., the other frame is JSAAJ436J210....

My thinking is that the 5th number is the year and the 6th is the month in the build code??? Does anyone have access to this data??

It looks like a little cut and paste between the frames will solve the mount problem, has anyone done this? Is this the only issue?

Thanks

Default Vin # Question ??? HELP !!!

The first VIN number you posted is an 87. the second number is incorrect. The locate the year it is always the 10th digit of the VIN and from years 1979 to 2000 it is a letter. so recheck your number and tell me what you have and I will see if i can help you a little more.

Default Vin # Question ??? HELP !!!

You're right, I missed a letter in the VIN

It is: JSAAJ43A6J210 XXXX So, if the critical 10th place is J, does that make it newer than the H on my '87??

It's blue and my '87 is black, does that give anyone a clue?
