Default UPGRADE TO A Z400

Hey, my bro was thinkin on uping from a warrior to a z400. if he does it'll be me on a King Quad and him on a z400. we pretty much do woods riding and all that comes with it. this includes mud, water, rivers, rocks, roots, fallen trees, ruts, dips, tall grass, deep snow the whole thing. Latly his warrior bearing have been failing at a rate of once a month. the mechanic says due to mud and water. so im wondering, how does the Z handle repeated water and bumps and things i stated above. also, is the reverse gear geared as high as the raptor? cuz that thing just spins and doesn't do to much good. also, is the tranny wide ratio and suited for trail or is it short ratio and aimed more at track riding?? all the questions i got for now. thanx in advance.

i've had no problems yet riding in rain, mud (not deep mud)
rode trails, sand, desert, never been in snow with it as it doesnt snow here
in PHX. didnt do well crossing a small wash as I dont have an airbox
and I sucked up a lot of water . reverse is a little high geared I think but it has saved me
from some tight places. Its a great quad

I own both a warrior and a DVX so I've had a good side by side comparison. The DVX is geared much higher than the warrior. On the warrior in reverse you can almost come to a complete stop without stalling the engine. The DVX has to be revved out pretty good to avoid stalling and then you hit the rev limiter. Also ground clearance is very low on the DVX with its 20 inch tires and thick plastic skid plate compared to the warriors 22 inch tires and thin metal skid. The tranny is pretty wide ratio and good for open trail riding. If I was going to be doing some serious woods riding I would gear it down and put taller tires and a good skid plate on it.

You'll definetly want to regear with 23 inch mudlites.I think its geared high with the stock 20 inch tires.
