BK, I agree wiht your perspectives about the pacing and such however he should be fine after a few weeks i mean im 5'1 and i got mine bout a month ago and its like ive had it for year you ajust quickly and proficantly. I feel as if you require no tune ups accept for the fornt bumper. The vinson compared to the sp700 is way different you have to hang on for deer life on the 700 and on the vinson smooth sailing. In my opnion only a few quads can stand up to the vinson i think its number one in the class. The power bands are alright you can still fly though.If IM NOT MISTAKEN IT syas you live in florida that means you get your license in 3 or 2 years (since you said your freind is 15). so yes yes yes you are making the right decission about everything excellent questions

I would agree that the Vinson is way better than the Sportsman. I have two buddies who both have sportsmans..the 500 and 600 twin. My vinny blows them both away in races and on the trails. Polaris atv's in my opinion are made for older fatter people.

 

you don't have to go all the way up to a 500 to not out grow it...i dont have anything agaisnt it just you dont have to go huge..your friend will have to be really careful...itll be pretty easy to get thrown off...and it will probley be pretty hard for him to handle...most people his size are on 250's and down
