I love my Vinson. You can't go wrong buying this quad!
As for the foul language-it's nothing more than expressing one's self. People choose to do it in different ways. Freedom of speech comes to mind. My kids have used "foul"(who came up with the list, anyway)language and I told them that as long as they knew when, and when not to, use such language, I didn't have a problem w/ them expressing themselves. So, come on nay-sayers, call me a bad parent for condoning the use of...............LANGUAGE!
Sorry about the rant, but, damn, it's expression!

I love my Vinson. Several things sold me on the Vinson after a bunch of research. First, price was a factor. I could not afford the latest and biggest machine. I was able to get an new 03 on clearance and saved a $1,000 versus a new 04 Vinson (and about $1,500 to $2,000 less than a Rincon or other big bore machine). Second, it has a six gallon fuel tank (5 and 1 in reserve). Third, adjustable shocks. While this is more common, not all machines have them and they are nice to have. Finally, and most important, the reviews consistently ranked it a the top of the 500 class and in the middle of the big bore class.
ATV Rider Magazine did a review of seven 500 to 700 CC machines. The Vinson came in 3rd -- above some much bigger machines -- behind only the Rincon 650 and Prarie 660. This was before the Brute Force or King Quad was out.
Read two reviews to get a good feel for how it stacks up to other machines:

The reviews do a good job of going through the good and the bad. The good definitely outweighs any minor shortcomings.

The Vinson doesnt come with a front bumper, just a "grab" which will
bend very easily.
The rear brake squeaks like crazy all the time, and I have "heard" that the
pads dont last very long.
Those little plastic inserts that hold the fenders on pop out all the time, which
can be replaced very cheap, but gets annoying after a while.
No locking front differential.
Those are just a few of the bad things...
The good...
Headlights turn night into day, very large easy to read display, very powerful
for a 500, and it has a dry storage in the front fender.
The good didnt outweigh the bad for me. Getting rid of mine.
Bought a Prairie 700. Should have done that the first time.
My 2 cents
