I have a z400 stock. I have to pull start it cold. put a manual choke on it. cleaned the jets. dont have air leaks. any help please.

no mods all stock thats why so lost on this one

 

put the petcock on "prime" for a minute before you start it, then switch it to "on" after you start it.

How long has it been since the valves were adjusted?

 

valves were adjusted 5 weeks ago when in shop for this problem. still wont start cold tried the prime for 1 min still wont start

 

OK, living in FL, just how cold are we talking here? When it gets really cold you can get that problem if you haven't rejetted the carb. Have you
checked battery output?

 

engine at room temp 80 degrees. it seems to crank fast enough, but will check that.

 

Once its been running and warmed up...if you turn it off, will it restart good then?
Have you tried a new spark plug?
Id think at 80 degrees, you wouldnt even need the enrichener, to start. Hows the air filter...clean and reoiled? I know you said it was stock...but the air box lid is still on?
