Hey, today I installed full skidplates on my 2005 Z400. The A-Arms, full chassis and swingarm, the problem is though that after half throttle you can hear a very loud rattling. I have tightened them down very much and constantly checked them and they are still very tight. I dont know if this is a common problem or not but it is very loud and annoying. I was just wondering if you guys could help me out and let me know if there is a way to solve this problem. Thanks a lot any input is greatly appreciated!

 

what skid plates are u using?


ive had my PRM's on since the bike was brand new and i haven't noticed n e rattles or noises

 

Check you belli skid plate. I put on a suzuki brand on and had a bad rattle. What I did was take it off and used a 1/4 wide foam tape on my frame down both sides and put the plate back on and that fixed my problem.

 

UNI sells foam, you put it between the skid and the frame, and it takes care of the vibration problem.

Thanks a lot guys. by the way I have armadillo skidplates, they seem very sturdy just the rattling is very annoying. I appreciate all your comments and will look up the foam to buy and install it.

 

Is that 05 Z treating you good? Is it a big improvement over the 04?

 

Hey DVXer, I love my 05 its been great to me so far. I have only put about half an hour on a couple 03 models so I dont know how much improvement it is. The suspension feels great and the salesman at the dealership said he feels it handles better with the new suspension. Thanks a lot guys for your help
