I would say go for the 3. Its a complete systme and they are usually better than just a slip on. You will have to re-jet though.

 

I know that it's not a z250 but whatever, i have a stage 3 Dg xcclerator exhaust system on my lakota and it's great. I could not have made a better choice. You get insane power and it sounds awsome too. Yes you will have to re-jet the carb but you gain more power and your quad runs smoother. The nice thing about the three different stages for the z250 is if you want a pipe that gives you some power and is cheap than you can get stage 1. If you want more power than stage 1 but still want a silencer than stage 2. Last if you want the most power and insane performance than you have stage 3. I would say either go with stage 2 or stage 3 you will get the most out of your money with those.
