Does adding a winch affect the steering on new King Quad?
WOW! I did something wrong and I didn't even get to add a message before it posted.
Anyway, my question is about adding a winch to the new King Quad (or any quad for that matter).
One of the greatest things about the new King Quad is the super light steering. Have you ever had an example of when adding 20lbs. to the front end affects the steering? I know if I contacted the dealer they would give me the standard answer that it doesn't. But I would really like to know before I purchase one.
Thanks

It most certainly will. I got the $69 winch with mine. I never had a winch before, so I was excited to see how it works. I built a winch mount for it, rather than pay the $70 the dealer wanted. Anyway, after one ride, I took it back off and decided to wait till snow plowing season to reattach it. I do alot of fast woods riding. With the winch on the front, it totally changed the ride quality. If you ride slower, you'd probably never know the difference. Since the KQ carves, as opposed to the Brute, which pushes like crazy, the extra weight just makes the front end to twitchy. Just my 2 cents!!!

I actually owned a VForce 700 before the KQ. I never liked the V. But, my brother has had a Prairie 650 since they came out and I stored it at my place for a few years. I really liked the Prairie. It's an awesome machine. In fact, I almost got a P700 before this bike. But, in all honesty, I like the KQ alot better. It's a much smoother ride and it would spank a P650. The P700 would be a much closer comparison.
