Default please!! i am new

I am looking to buy my first quad and have looked around and talked to a bunch of dealers and they all think the z400 is a great all around bike. I am 190lbs and 6 ft, so i need something that i wont get bored with bc i have riden before and really get into it. as for just buying a quad, what is the best way to learn about owning one of them, i know a little bit about engines, but is it tough to take care of one of these quads? i am just trying to learn more about the whole deal, i moved out here from jersey and had friends that rode back home, and really want to get into it out here in phoenix. any tips or info you guys could give would be much appreciated.

Mucky and scottd, i noticed you both live in phoenix, i am in the scottsdale area and have stopped by metro motor sports, towne and country in glandale and also extreme suzuki or whatever on mcdowell, any other good dealerships i can look into and what is the best way to get the price down on a new 400?

Lots of questions but anything would help, thanks a lot.

A z400 sounds perfect for you. But, what ever you do, don't buy from the "motorsports group" ie. metro, usa etc. You will end up paying about 8 grand. And these bikes are VERY easy to take care of. Good luck and have fun.

Oh yeah, welcome to AZ. Weather like today comes about every 6 months.

thank you for the input, but if i shouldnt go to one of the motorsports groups, where should i go? does the motor sports group include the places that i have been too? they are claiming the price to be $5799 for the '05, what extras should i expect to pay on top of that? i am just really itching to get one and want to get a good deal. Thanks again

thanks a lot guys for reponding, i actually went to the exreme suzuki dealership and talked them a little about pricing. the z400 is priced at 5799 and with tax, destination, and all that other crap they add too it, final cost would be around 7300, and i asked if i could get it out the door for 6500. They are also still gonna help with helmet, boots, etc... but is this around what i can be expecting to pay. they also have a 2 yr old trailer(5x8) that they are gonna work into it. Out the door with all that stuff i am hoping for around 7000, does this seem like a pretty good deal? i already had them check the credit so i am all set, just need to decide if i am ready to have 7 grand in debt. thanks again for the feedback

if ur getting the bike, trailer, boots, helmet, gloves, googles for 7k thats sounds pretty darn decent to me....i paid 5600 for my 04 Z400....got the bike, 6 pack rack, full skids, front bumper, helmet, gloves and goggles for that price and they gave me a voucher for 20 percent off boots when i get them....cuz the ones i wanted weren't available when i got the bike
