I am looking at one as well, I talked to a dealer in NH on the telephone and he said OTD $6800 -6900. Though I have heard people in like Ohio say they got theirs for around $6500. At cycletrader.com they have it for like $6300. The dealer invoice price would be interesting to know though.

What good would it serve knowing the dealers invoice? The out door price is the out the door price. Don't confuse the details of the sale. It is none of our business how much a dealer makes. We have no idea what there expenses are such as rent, utilities, property, taxes, wages, insurance, etc. Pride yourself on buying from a dealer who will give you good service when you bring it back. That is wayyyyy more important than saving pocket change. Just my two cents worth.

i agree with you about the value of a good dealer, and if they arent profitable thay wont be around in the future, but i also konw that if they do provide good service they will have a large enough customer base that they can work on a smaller margin (think walmart big cheap and fair customer service i mean come on who hasnt been able to return something at walmart reciept or not), also you usually dont know what kind of dealer you have untill after your purchase, so it is my contention that it is best to go prepared with all the info available so as to negociate a fair deal, i dont want to offend the dealer with an unrealistic offer, but i also dont want to over pay. I have heard stories of the king quads selling from $800 over msrp all the way down to guys buying them for $6200 otd. i just tonight got an email from a dealer from ebay (he did not have a king listed but he was selling 05 gsxr's cheap) selling kings for 6350 otd he is in ohio to far (not to drive but to far to deal with) this will give me some thing to think about when i talk to my area dealers. by the way cyclebuy.com is the site that sells dealer invoice pricing (it breaks down shipping set up & so on), it sells these reports for $12.99 but it looks like no one here has used it and i think i have enough info anyway so i probably wont spend the money, i was just wondering if any one had used the site what they thought, if it turned out to be worth while, and what other guys are paying for the quad
thanks for your help

Its an interesting topic..........on the flip side how would you feel if someone came into your place of work and told you you were making to much money? Or earning to much per hour? I used to shop for ever to save a buck till I realized a dealer takes way better care of me if I purchased everything from him. Sometimes it is easier and quicker to forget about the last dollar saved just to save the time. But my opinion doesnt always match everyones. Cheers with your purchase! Mine cost $7,600 with the winch and the 4 year extended warranty. No tax nor set up fees. I sold the winch for $300

I've used cyclebuy.com before. They do have a lot of good information on where a dealer makes his money. A dealership is not going to let you rip him off and you should be informed so the opposite doesn't happen. Drive for the best bargain you can get, trust me there are enough other suckers that will keep that dealer afloat. I can't speak for everyone, but the dealerships I frequent are owned by a very wealthy individual. He didn't get that way by being dumb or generous. It's like going to the grocery store and paying 2.50 for milk when everyone else is paying 2.00, why? Is that milk going to taste better, last longer, or the boy bagging your grocery going to do a better job? No, no and no. Dealerships use all kinds of games to up sell you into making them money. Be smart, be informed get an honest, fair deal. Trust me the dealer will not loose money on a machine, what's in it for them? They are not going to be a good ol boy and give you a quad so they can be your bud. They are there to provide a service and make money! Go in armed with knowledge not flowers, that 13.00 bucks spent at cyclebuy.com might save you several hundred or a thousand a week or two from now.
As far as people walking into your place of business and telling you you're making too much money that happens everyday, it's called the free market system. If people don't like your price they won't buy your product. It's why a company called Wal-mart has been in the top three companies with the highest annual gross revenue for the last 5 years.
I would really like to find a dealer that knows me and that I could feel good about paying that little extra and getting that service, but I have not had any luck yet. The sales managers change every year, these 18 year old sales kids last 3 months and don't know anything, and the owners are nowhere to be found. I bought 12 bikes in two years seems like someone would know me, but nope.

I bet if you bought all 12 bikes from the same dealer they would know u and smile when you walked in and give you unbeatable service. But I do agree with you about the hiring and firing of so many people. Sad world
And I do agree there is a point reached where the amount we would be paying is unreasonable and we should shop elsewhere. But the cheapest price is rarely the best price.

I would be glad to pay a little more for a machine from a local dealer who offered great service. Funny how some businesses can't figure out that in order for a buyer to experience a great service department, they better first provide a great buying experience. My local dealer has an attitude problem and has sales people who are shifty and have a hard time looking you in the eye. I can't stand businesses that think they are doing you a favor by selling you something. Turns out all I had to do is drive 105 miles and I found a wonderful dealer (a very friendly Mom and Pop shop) who sold me a KQ for $800 less than my local dealer was willing to sell it for. For me, that's a very easy call.
